The Village Hall has been described by many visitors who are astounded by the size of the building once inside as a 'Tardis'.
GROUND FLOOR
Reception/General Office This is the hub of the Village Hall where enquiries are dealt with, bookings are made and invoices raised.
Surf Shack (Computer Room) The Surf Shack has 12 Computer Stations within. These are used to provide Adult and Children's computer sessions. The Adult Provision holds classes in ECDL and ECDL Advanced.
Mapplewell and Staincross Library The Library has been situated in the hall since 2002 and is very popular with members of the local community. Free internet access is amongst the many services provided by the Library including a Toddler Group held on a Monday morning in conjunction with Darton Children's Section.
Barnsley Connects Service New to the Village Hall in 2010 Connects offers members of the Community to access Council services in their own locality. Issues dealt with can range from renewing Blue Badges to complaints about noisy neighbours.

Kozee Kids Nursery Formerly a Pre-School Learning Alliance Nursery this has now been taken-over as a private business. The Nursery can hold 42 Children at any one time. It has a dedicated staff team and provides an excellent facility for youngsters in the local area.

AT THE REAR OF THE BUILDING
To the rear of the Village Hall is a Rifle Club that has been there for around 60 years. The Club has 3 shooting ranges and opens most evenings.
